In 2013, Omkar Bhatkar founded Metamorphosis Theatre Inc, with only one play in the first year, the theatre group has created more than thirty productions over the span of last seven years. The ensemble has gone through several phases in the last seven years, where their initial plays were originally written and were mostly monologues of existential crisis.

From 2015 the group experimented with movements and created several movement pieces. With Movement came Poetry and for a long-time poetry continues to be Metamorphosis style.

By 2017 Metamorphosis as a theatre group was deconstructing social reality as conceived & formed by ideologies. Upset with reality, it was finding alternative ways of realities rather than a dominantly suppressive one through art ventures. That’s how surrealistic plays entered the list of Metamorphosis Theatre Inc.

In 2018 Omkar Bhatkar co-founded St. Andrew’s Centre for Philosophy and Performing Arts with Fr. Magi Murzello, Rector of St. Andrew’s Educational Foundation. It was then that the theatre group moved into creating designed productions and bringing poetic biopics to stage.

Late 2018, In collaboration with Alliance Française de Bombay and help from the French puppeteer and thespian, Frédéric Simon Metamorphosis Theatre Inc brought to stage several contemporary French Plays in English.

From 2019, the Omkar Bhatkar experimented with plays for Children and Grown ups going on to create several poignant works dealing with Empathy, Loss, Gender Sensitivity.
